So, Kjetil, add

  deb http://<my.favorite.cran.mirror>/bin/linux/ubuntu intrepid/
             ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

to your /etc/apt/sources.list  (or use the GUI "Package Sources")
