[ESS] ESS on Rwindows

ESS is independent of which R you are using. Most likely you
have defined an earlier version in your Windows environment.
That can be fixed by editing
control panel/system/advanced/environment variables/PATH

Or you might have the wrong version defined in your Emacs/site-lisp/site-start.el
or in your ~/.emacs

Editing those from within emacs would also correct the problem.

I assume you are using M-x R to start R, and therefore using R in
the *R* buffer in emacs. I make this assumption because that is the only
time the version matters. If you use the Rgui from the START button, you
get the one you click on, most likely the most recently installed.

If you have installed R and taken all defaults, then

M-x R-2.5.1 will start the current release in an emace *R* buffer.
