minimial Xemacs for ESS?

I'm not sure that I made the question clear: The full XEmacs installation 
includes 98 packages, ess among them. From the package names, it appears 
that I can't dispense with all of the other packages -- xemacs-base, for 
example. There are others that I'm quite sure that I don't need, such as 
ada. What is the minimal set of packages that I should install?
