Interruption of a running job

With M-x Sqpe+4, I don't think you it is possible to interrupt a
running job and keep the process active.  I've found several ways to
kill the process, C-q C-Break for example.  C-c C-c doesn't kill the
process on W95 and S-Plus 4.5.

With M-x S+4, I found that C-c C-c typed into the *S+4* buffer will
kill the S-Plus window.  But the *S+4* window is a placeholder buffer
in that case.  It is needed to mediate the transmission of keystrokes
from myfile.s (using C-c C-n and relatives) to the stand-alone S-Plus
window.  If you are using M-x S+4, then you should never be in the
*S+4* buffer.  To interrupt a command sequence that has been started
with C-c C-r, you can type the all-purpose emacs interrupt C-g in the
myfile.s buffer.  Then if the S-Plus is still working, switch to the
S-Plus Commands window and enter the ESC key.
