[ESS] Have you considered support for PSPP?

Hi Frans,
If you have programmed in other languages, and are interested to learn elisp, then making a simple 'ESS-lite' for PSPP may be a manageable project. I did something along those lines for GRASS GIS. It's about 1000 lines of code, and does command completion, syntax highlighting, Eldoc tooltips, help browsing, and passing commands from script files to the interpreter. Not nearly so robust and sophisticated as ESS, but quite workable for my modest needs, and I'm no lisp wizard.
This was a really fun way to learn more about Emacs and GRASS, it might be a similar opportunity for you. I wish I had more GIS work to do so I could spend more time with my creation.
