[ESS] ESS in feature freeze pending 13.09

Hello:

ESS is in feature freeze for a pending release of 13.09 later this
month.

For those who are willing to test it out, please do so at this time.
You can find info on installing from the SVN and git repos at
http://ess.r-project.org/index.php?Section=download

During this window, the SVN and git repos are (and will be) synched.
Currently, we are at SVN revision r5764.

The list of new features can be found at (once the web page updates from 
source some time today) http://ess.r-project.org/Manual/news.html
This info can also be found locally, once the docs are built, in
doc/html/news.html

Please report any problems/bugs/etc. to this mailing list.  Thanks
