[ESS] automatic line breaks

Sounds like auto-fill-mode is turned on somehow.  I don't believe ESS
does this at all, so it might be set through some other package or
setting in your config file.

Do you see 'Fill' in your mode line?

There is a variable ess-version, not a command to
access its value though.
