[ESS] Running the 64bit R under ess

Somehow, I kept over-reading that section...

I added the following line to my .emacs file following the my normal require line:
;; ESS set-up
(load-library "ess/ess-site")
(require 'ess)
(setq inferior-R-args "--arch x86_64")
