[ESS] sometimes <C-x s> does not work ...

Okay, now I worked for some time without this problem, but now it
evolved again:
C-x C-s is recognized simply as C-x and "nothing".
But if I press the shift in the meanwhile then all is fine, but that
is annoying:
C-x C-S
The same occurs on C-h k C-x C-s.
The last C-s is ignored, but recognized if I use C-S
Strange to me ...
