[ESS] Lisp nesting exceeds max-lisp-eval-depth after upgrading to R2.4.0 and using M-x R

Sorry, to bother the list one more time:

after upgrading ESS to version 5.3.3 the error message Lisp nesting exceeds max-lisp-eval-depth 
is shown again. This does not happen, when I use an older version (5.2.11).
Does anybody else encounter this problem with R version R 2.4.0 and ESS 5.3.3. I am using Emacs version 21.3 and have the following in my .emacs:

(load "c:/emacs/emacs-21.3/site-lisp/ess-5.3.3/lisp/ess-site")
(setq-default inferior-R-program-name "C:/R/R-2.4.0/bin/Rterm.exe")
