Dear Rich and Ignacio,

I've not seen this kind of behaviour before. My configuration file for 
XEmacs/ESS should always scroll the output to the bottom of the window. 
Maybe it would help to know what versions of the various programs (XEmacs, 
ESS, R, Windows) Ignacio is using.
