Using R under Emacs

Try
C-x 2
to split the screen.

Then C-x b to change one of the halves to a different buffer.

Have you worked your way through the emacs tutorial?  This is a very
good way to learn emacs.  Enter
    C-h t
then read and follow the screen.  Do this on the screen.  There is
no value to reading the file except on the screen.
