problem / latest upgrade/ /loading using C-c C-l

System info:
R Version 1.3.1  (2001-08-31) on Windows 2000
ESS v. 5.1.20 using emacs ver. 20.1.1

Colleagues

I've upgraded to the versions above, and all works nicely except when 
loading the R script using C-c C-l. After dumping the R file with C-c C-d 
everything looks OK, but loading gives the error "no ESS process 
associated with this buffer now".

I had a look on the archive maillist but see no mention of this problem. 
My .emacs file has been updated with the new directories for emacs 
20.1.1 and ESS 5.1.20, as you can see from the listing below.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
