I sort of found the culprit, but have no idea how or why it happened.
I have the following lines in my .Rprofile:
##.h <- taskCallbackManager()
##invisible(.h$add(function(expr, value, ok, visible) {
## options(prompt=paste(getwd(),":",substring(date(),12,19), "> ",
sep=""));
## return(TRUE)},
## name="dateprompt"))
which, when uncommented, gives me the current working directory as well as
the time at the R prompt. This seems to be what's causing my problem with
help under ESS. When commented out, the problem dissappears.
Anyone have ideas how to fix this? TIA!!
Cheers,
Andy
