problem with ess and spss10

I wasn't aware that ESS inter-operates with SPSS and after looking through the
lisp sub-directory I don't think it does. I have never used SPSS so I don't
know what is possible. But, I'm guessing that the following might work. Edit
your source code in an emacs buffer. When you are ready to run it, save your
file. Then do a M-x shell This should open an NT CMD buffer within emacs. CD
into the appropriate directory. Assuming SPSS can be found in your PATH, type
start SPSS filename
If your job starts to run in the background, you can go back to editing your
various buffers. Please let us know what you find out.
