Using imenu facility in R mode

I've got func-menu support locally (XEmacs's original long-standing
version), not integrated with ESS yet.  I did some work with imenu
around 2 years ago, but never completed it.

It _IS_ on the list of things to do.  (which I should work on, along
with a half-decent WWW site, with a listing the things we've thought
of :-).

I can add the code you mentioned to essr-a.el (the ess additions file
for R) until we get it integrated.
