NTemacs & ESS

Dear ESS Users,

I have just upgraded to NTemacs 20.5.1 and also ESS5.1.11. Previously, I 
was using NTemacs 20.3.1 and ESS 5.1.7 quite happily, without any trouble.
Now, when opening Splus inside emacs via "M-x S", I get the message from 
Splus "error opening BATCH input file E:\Splus\MASS\S_PROJ=E\SPLUS\MASS. 
The filename, directory name or volume label is incorrect".
I click on "OK" and everthything go on as nothing had happen.
What's the problem? (I wouldn't like to have to go though this for every 
single project I have to work on).
I appreciate any help.
