problem with help

Hi. I just installed ESS 5.1.11 on a Linux machine; I'm using Splus 5.1
and Emacs 20.3.1. When I request help on an SPlus function (C-c C-v),
the *help[S+5](whatever)* buffer appears correctly and is in ESS Help
mode. But the buffer only contains the following:

cat: invalid option -- c
Try `cat --help' for more information.

instead of the documentation. Could someone tell me where I need to make
a fix?

Thanks,
