[BioC] Question about Normalization

Hello

I would like to know how the columns EXP_NORM	REF_NORM were created in this dataset

http://compbio.med.harvard.edu/CGHweb/HelpFiles/SampleFile.txt

I know how the previous columns 
EXP_46561_532	REF_46561_635	RATIO
were calculated. But cannot find how they got the next column, I tried subtracting mean, median values from the column but couldnt figure it out.
