[R] Matrix in R

Is there posiibility to read.table change in matrix?

When i used read.table it gave  me:

     V1       V2      V3     V4    
[1,] "OsobaA" "10,00" "9,00" "8,00"
[2,] "OsobaB" "2,00"  "3,00" "1,00"
[3,] "OsobaC" "5,00"  "6,00" "4,00"

I want to change it in:

    [1,]       [2,]       [3,]     [4,]      
[1,] "A" "10,00" "9,00" "8,00"
[2,] "B "2,00"  "3,00" "1,00"
[3,] "C" "5,00"  "6,00" "4,00"

What should I do to get this?
