[R] Read stata file from internet?

Try this:

tmpfile <- tempfile()
download.file('http://www.stat.ucla.edu/projects/datasets/risk_project.dta',
tmpfile)
risk2 <- read.dta(tmpfile)
unlink(tmpfile)
