Not quite. The request was to have the output without the input.

You should be able to do this by defining ess-eval-visibly as nil, and
this partly works.  However, C-c C-n (eval line and step) doesn't honor
ess-eval-visibly (at least on my ESS).  Presumably this is a bug in ESS.
