IIUC, you'd like to change 'car' to 'cdr' on L733:

I just tried this change, but then 'M-x R-[TAB]' results in

Click on a completion to select it.
In this buffer, type RET to select the completion near point.

Possible completions are:
R-fix-T-F 	R-initialize-on-start
R-mode 	R-newest
R-transcript-mode
