[ESS] R buffer does not appear Mac OSX Aquamacs

R is running inside emacs. You should see *R* buffer popped in front. If
it doesn't that means an error occurred and you need to switch to it
manually. If you do C-x b, do you see the completion for *R* and can you
switch to that buffer?

Is your session locked as well? In that case make sure you don't change
R prompt. ESS needs R prompt to end with "> ".
