Hi

I have been living with this for years now but it is quite annoying and now it triggered me to seek help.

Suppose that I have an running R inferior process with an associated script file. Now I need to visit another R script file to copy some code snippets. Then it seems like ess-request-a-process is called automatically. In this case I don't want a new R process or that particular script file to be associated with an existing R process. How do I prevent that? Is there any ess configuration variable I can set? If not can we please have such a configuration variable.

Thanks for your good work and thanks in advance for any help.

Yours sincerely / Med venlig hilsen
