Thanks.  I have just tried this.

First a comment:
There seem to be broken symlinks in that package:
  Contents/MacOS/bin and Contents/MacOS/libexec.


But unfortunately, it does not help either.  I still get now window and
Emacs constantly at 50% CPU (until i kill -9 it).
By now I blame it on Sophos running on that system.
I see a message
 kernel[0]: CoreServicesUIAg[47517] Unable to quarantine: 93
in the syslog.  So, as soon as I have some time, I'll try to dig into
that direction.
