Which specific version of R?

The latest is the just released 2.15.3. 2.15.2 had a bug in the installer for Mountain Lion which defaulted to 32 bit R, rather than 64 bit R.

If you are on 2.15.2, upgrade to 2.15.3 which is on CRAN now for OSX.
