[ESS] No ESS entry in emacs

Yes indeed.  Is there any reason why you are using such an old version of ESS?

For  Windows I recommend to everyone to get Emacs+ESS(+AucTeX+...)
prepackaged from Vincent's Goulet site,
which you find on  http://ESS.r-project.org/ -> Downloads ..[search
for] Vincent Goulet
