On Windows and Mac, I do as well.  We are way, way off the
ESS bandwagon, but I have another concern.  There is a killer
feature that XEmacs users will howl loudly for.  And, I can't
seem to figure out how to create it in Emacs.  On XEmacs,
if you have several .R or .SAS files open, then as you view
one of them:  you see tabs for the others.  Picking a tab
switches you into the other buffer.  This is incredibly
smart and convenient.  Without it, I am starting to dislike
working with Emacs.
