Ok, but this is an entirely different suggestion, correct? There's
no way that a 32-bit application can do anything with the real
C:\Program Files since it is hidden from them, right? Only 64-bit
applications see the true C:\Program Files; of course, they can also
see C:\Program Files (x86). Maybe the R installer needs to be a
64-bit application for 7 and 32-bit application for XP.
What a f*cking mess!
