[ESS] interrupt running command using remote-ess

Dear list members,


i am running remote-ess via:

Alt-X ssh ... (entering password etc, starting R on the remote machine)... Alt-X ess-remote RET r RET

I use ssh.el and putty.exe on a Windows machine to establish the ssh connection.

If I try to interrupt a running R command there (Ctr-C Ctr-C), ssh shuts down completely and the whole R session is lost. Is there any way to only interupt the R command and NOT the connection to the R process?
