[ESS] r-autoyas: update and help/maintainer wanted

Dear hackers,

Matthew just wrote me that he is willing to do the merging. He has a 
more recent version of his approach at his home but is now travelling, 
so probably it does not make much sence to merge the version I have 
posted now but rather to wait a bit...
