[ESS] Pop-up help in minibuffer - repeat request

Hi Peter,

It looks to me that you are talking about ess-eldoc functionality. 
By default ESS does not have this feature activated. You need to have something
like

(require 'ess-eldoc)

in your emacs.

Just remove that line, and hopefully your problem will be solved.
