No, sorry for the lack of attention.  There is certainly a problem with
`ess-swv-PDF', and the attached patch (against ESS SVN) corrects it in
my GNU Emacs 23.1.1 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.18.6) of
2010-01-27 on brahms, modified by Debian, with ESS 5.8.

ESS Core: would you like me to commit this in SVN?
