Thanks Rodney. Not exactly what I wanted to hear but that will do. I have another question then: I start emacs on the remote server, it creates the windows for the log, lst, etc. However, now when I open my SAS file I do not get syntax highlighting. How is that turned on? Thanks, Jurgen
