[ESS] text help in R.2.5.1 does not display

I've just upgraded to R-2.5.1 -
when I request help about a function - e.g. ?plot - a help window opens 
up as usual (e.g. *help[R](plot)*) - but it empty

Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm using emacs 21.3.1 and ESS 5.2.0 running under Windows XP
