Please keep ess-help in the reply list; I'm less responsive than I used to be.
Anyway, this is true, and was mentioned in this list. The folks on
ESS-core who are using XEmacs don't have time (read: patience,
inclination, appropriate positions, etc, etc) to keep ESS as a default
package in XEmacs. So, you need to D/L the xemacs package for ESS
separately.
If anyone does want to take on this issue (and can promise to hang on
to the job for a few years), I'm sure that the rest of the core team
would be grateful and interested. Esp if we could get someone who can
delve a bit into the small bugs that are creeping into the code as
XEmacs/Emacs diverge over time. (not solve the problem, but who can
do some of the leg work).
