[ESS] M-x stata: Symbol's value as variable is void, again

Hi,

I saw that earlier last year there was a thread about this but nothing 
came out of it.

I get the same problem using M-x stata on a debian machine with ess 5.2.12

However, interestingly when I load R first i.e. M-x R and then M-x 
stata, stata load with no problems
