[ESS] SAS Batch Processing

Hi

I hope I am not overstaying my welcome.

I'm experiencing some difficulty running ESS using the function keys 
for batch processing.

I added the line (ess-sas-global-pc-keys) to .emacs. At the moment I am 
running emacs on the remote machine (ssh to remote host, then start up 
emacs in the terminal window) but just in case it is relevant my local 
machine is a mac (os x).

While <F8> works fine I cannot get C-<F8> to work. After selecting a 
region, hitting  C-<F8> just makes the computer beep at me and produces 
no result. Strangely Command-<F8> (the "apple" key for non-mac users) 
seems to be equivalent to <F8> alone.

Any suggestions on how to the C-FunctionKey combinations to work?
