no C-c C-v completion after library()

Hello.  I'm running ESS 5.1.24 on RedHat 9, with R 1.9.1.  I'm
addicted to online help via 'C-c C-v', but after I load a package with
"library()", I am unable to complete on the newly available functions
(for help purposes or in the interactive R window, for that matter).
I tried searching the archive of the mailing list, but didn't turn up
anything about this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
