I don't add the date in the script.  I have a method of automatically
adding it when objects are saved to file.

RCS's undoubtedly quite neat, but I have many years of work with the
dates on the object which I use to sort out what's happening in any
directory I come back to.  Just when an object was made is useful
information to me and I like to access it automatically along with
other various bits of information about objects.  So, I'm not keen to
forgo that functionality right now.

I'd just like to know how to disable this new functionality.
