Dear ESS users,

I got the following error when trying to load a source file
(smart.R in directory E:\R\)
into XEmacs through the menu iESS and "Load source file",
namely C-c C-l,

Error in file(file, "r") : unable to open connection
	In addition: Warning message:
	cannot open file `E:Rsmart.R'

It seems the slash "/" or "\" being missing, but I don't know how to fix that.
I just can't find this kind of problem being asked in the mail-list.

My environment is
  Win98, XEmacs 21.4.6 and ESS 5.1.24

Hope I am not the first, or the only, one having this kind of problem.
Your help will be highly appreciated.

By the way, after an hour spent, I installed GNU Emacs
(with the same version of ESS) and found C-c C-l works.
However, the completion (TAB) just seems taking forever to finish
every time (not just the first time) after following the instruction
to make ess-r-namedb.el and put into the correct directory (even
re-compiled it into ess-r-namedb.elc).

Best regards,
