Colleagues

After a bit of fiddling I found that for R-1.6.0 you need to call the
executable in your ~/.emacs file to permit the usual startup for R (M-x R).

(setq-default inferior-R-program-name "/usr/local/lib/R-1.6.0/bin/R")

This is probably taken care of in the rpm for Mandrake 9.0, but I
haven't yet checked on my home machine. (I'm using slackware at work). I
thought this tidbit might be of use to others who are upgrading to the
current R-version.

Cheers

Sam
