two problems upgrading from emacs 20.7 to

Yes, it did solve the first problem.

And I've got a little more information on the second problem. If I put in a
long calculation, I still get the watch. Furthermore, typing ctrl-C ctrl-C
doesn't help.

However, if I first type ctrl-G, two things happen:
	1. the command is echoed in just the way it was before (and isn't,
normally, in
			this version); and
	2.  now ctrl-C ctrl-C works.

Also, if I make my calculation print things out, I can switch buffers and
use ctrl-C ctrl-C.

So, in a stupid example (the one I used, though):

	for(i in 1:2000){summary(lm(runif(1000)~runif(1000)))}
		gives me the watch, but I can get out if I type ctrl-G;
while
	for(i in 1:2000){print(summary(lm(runif(1000)~runif(1000))))}
		doesn't give me the watch, and I can freely type in a second
buffer.
		(and use ctrl-C ctrl-C without first using ctrl-G).

Thanks for the help (and any additional help ;-) ).

Matt

Matthew:

The first problem might go away if you upgrade to 5.1.20 or the pre-release
of
5.1.21. Can you check it out?

Thanks, Rodney
