As Martin Maechler said, in ESS, "#" comments are placed halfway across the
page, "##" comments are indented as if they were code, and "###" comments are
left-justified.
On my permanent wishlist is an option or minor mode where "#" comments would be
right-justified, scooting leftward from the right margin (defined as 79 chars)
as you type the comment, e.g.:
x <- y + z # These are my comments
w <- rnorm(10) # They're always right-justified
Too difficult for me, but any clever emacs-lisp guru who could figure this out
would have my eternal gratitude!
