Running S+ on Unix from an NT platform??

There is a free to use X server (XFree86 v.4) available for windows -
it's Cygwin/XFree provided by Cygnus Designs. This includes a ssh
implementation, details in the help docs.

And of course, I'm not reading this morning.

The answer is "YES" to both issues. You'll need an X11 server on the NT
box, and a remote shell such as ssh (I don't know if telnet will set up
the X11 DISPLAY variable to do remote redirect), and you can bring up
graphics remotely. It's actually cleaner than the windows NT-only
approach, in some respects (we don't have to mess with the MathSoft
command-line prompt vs. GUI thing).

NO. You can't log in to an NT machine from Unix, unless perhaps if it
is running NT server. You MIGHT be able to log in to a 2k machine, but
I'm not certain of that.

works fairly simply. You just need the commandline tools to
remote-login to the Unix machine from a Command Shell ("command.exe" or
the cygwin bash shell).
