can't break a calculation anymore

Hi, all. I recently updated (via fink) to emacs 21.2-6. Now I no longer
have the ability to break into a calculation. That is, I used to be able to
change my mind while a computation was running, hit ctrl-c ctrl-c, and the
computation would stop and I'd be able to enter a new computation. (Handy,
for example, when some output quickly makes it clear that I have something
wrong in a function that will take a while to run.)

Now, when I hit ctrl-c ctrl-c, I'm ignored.

Is there a flag I can set somewhere to restore the old behavior?

Thanks,
