install problem on slackware

I see an inconsistency in your files that should be fixed.  I don't see
that it is related to the noweb issue.

You are using linux, yet you included the patched definition of ess-command
designed for MSWindows.  It actually surprised that it works at all.
It is time to remove that patch.  It is included in ESS 5.1.21 which was out
recently (May 2002?) and is in the next release out "real soon now".

Please get 5.1.21 from http://software.biostat.washington.edu/ess/
and try again.  We may already have fixed that problem.
