Automagically generated <- in .Rnw files

Hi,

Sorry for troubling you, but I think I'm confusing my minor modes.

When editing bits of LaTeX in .Rnw files, I find that lambda_{i} is getting 
automagically converted to lamdba <- {i}. (ESS is up to date, but I know my 
xemacs is a little dated and wonder whether this is down to old noweb mode or 
where I'm just muddling minor modes badly).

I assume I can get rid of the lisp that does the automagic "_" to "<-" 
conversion but did just wonder whether to take this as a hint that I'm doing 
all sorts of other things wrong with my noweb mode.
