ess-mode 5.1.9; R not starting

Yep, that was my problem-really as simple as that. The reason I ended up
with 5.1.9 is that in the ftp directory I noted the incrementing version
numbers at the start then just leapt to the end assuming that would be
the latest version (whoops).
